These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of carescope.com, the CareScope email newsletter, and the editorial content we publish. By using the site you agree to these Terms.

01Scope
These Terms apply to your use of this website, our email newsletter, our paid membership and downloadable toolkits, and our published content. CareScope is a publication; we do not sell consulting, assessments, software, or managed services through this site.
02Membership, toolkits, and billing
- A CareScope membership is billed monthly or annually and renews automatically until you cancel. Toolkits are one-time purchases that include the file and future updates to that file.
- Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
- Purchases are also subject to Paddle's buyer terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected at checkout.
- You may cancel a membership at any time from your account; access continues through the end of the paid period and no further charges are made.
- Paid content and downloadable files are licensed for use inside your own organization. Do not redistribute, resell, or publish them outside it.
- We may suspend or end access for non-payment, material breach of these Terms, or credible security or fraud risk.
03Refunds
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on memberships and toolkit purchases. If CareScope is not useful to you, request a full refund within 30 days of your order. Refunds are processed by our reseller, Paddle; request one at paddle.net or email support@carescope.com and we will help.
04Editorial content is information, not advice
- CareScope is an independent publication. We are not a law firm, managed service provider, reseller, certification body, or accredited auditor.
- Our articles are journalism and analysis based on sources cited at time of publication; regulations, products, and facts change.
- We do not issue certifications, attestations, audit opinions, or legal, security, or regulatory determinations.
- You remain solely responsible for decisions about your organization, including implementation, budget, and vendor selection.
05How we produce our reporting
Our work is researched and drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by a human editor before publication. Every story cites its primary sources so you can verify the record yourself. We correct errors promptly when they are brought to our attention.
06Prohibition on submitting PHI and sensitive data
You agree not to submit protected health information, patient identifiers, credentials, secrets, payment card data, or other sensitive personal information through this website, our contact form, or our reader assistant. You are responsible for ensuring that anything you send us is de-identified and appropriate for a non-clinical channel.
07Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, related systems, or other users' data.
- Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the site without prior written authorization.
- Do not scrape, republish, or resell site content, or use it to train models, without written permission.
- Do not interfere with site availability, integrity, or security controls, or misrepresent your identity or authority.
08Intellectual property and permitted use
CareScope owns all rights in the site and its published content. You may read, print, and share our articles for internal, non-commercial use, and quote short excerpts with clear attribution and a link to the original. Republishing full articles, systematic scraping, or using our content to train models requires our written permission.
09Story tips and submissions
- Do not send us material you are not permitted to share, and never send patient information.
- We may use information you send us editorially; we do not publish your identity without agreement.
- Unsolicited submissions create no obligation to publish, respond, or maintain confidentiality beyond what we expressly agree.
10Newsletter
Our newsletter is free. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we will stop sending editorial email to that address.
11Third-party services and links
The site may reference third-party products or link to third-party resources. CareScope does not endorse, control, or accept responsibility for third-party services, and we receive no commission, referral fee, or resale margin on any product we may discuss.
12Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO WEBSITE USE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).
14Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold CareScope harmless from third-party claims, losses, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your submission of prohibited data, or your unlawful use of the site.
15Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The parties will attempt good-faith resolution for 30 days; thereafter disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and each party consents to that jurisdiction and venue.
16Changes and contact
