Practices still mail discs, and everyone involved knows it is absurd. Cloud image exchange fixes the referral problem and gives patients a way to get their own studies without a phone call. The work is at the edges: connecting local modalities, agreeing on naming, and deciding who is allowed to share what. Judge it on how easily a referring office with no training can open a study, because that is the moment the product either saves time or wastes it.
